Congratulations to former NSU MS student Rachael Storo for publishing her thesis work on shark microbiomes in Frontiers of Microbiology! She steadfastly mastered the statistical analyses, and persevered through the writing process, while initiating a doctoral degree program at UGA. With this contribution, it was very interesting to see the least variation of microbial diversity in the teeth compared to other body parts, yet specific microbes also contributed to most of the diversity across five shark species. Thanks to our collaborators such as the Mahmood Shivj, Derek Burkholder, and Explorer’s Club for assistance with collections. Well done Rachael! https://www.frontiersin.org/…/fmicb.2021.605285/full.
